Surgical oncology is the medical specialty concerned with the surgical treatment of cancer. This includes removing cancerous tumours as well as reconstructing the affected area. Tumors are removed by surgical oncologists using a variety of techniques, including traditional surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and laser surgery.
